Jonah Lomu recibe la botella de los niños del Vigo Rugby/Jonah Lomu receives the bottle from the chiildren of the Vigo Rugby Club

JONAH LOMU RECEIVES THE BOTTLE FROM THE CHILDREN OF THE VIGO RUGBY CLUB

It has taken eleven months and it has traveled more than 41,000 kilometers but, finally, the bottle with the message from the children of the Vigo Rugby to the ex-All Black player, Jonah Lomu, has reached its final destination.
The delivering to the well-known player Jonah Lomu took place last Sunday, 21 February, during the match between the Sporting Club Mazametain and the Marseille Vitrolles Rugby, the team in which the ex-All Black is currently playing. Jean Marc Foucras, ex-Castres coach, was the person in charge of delivering the bottle to Lomu.
Lomu was very surprised by the initiative and declared that the letter from the children of the Vigo Rugby had moved him, as he had never received so a touched message.
In an extract of his answer, the best rugby player ever declared: “you have to be strong and keep fighting for the things you want. Only with work and constancy you could achieve your objectives”.

Lomu has showed his intention to meet the authors of this special message in a bottle, what has exited to all the children of the lower categories of the Vigo Rugby Club.
The history of a bottle
The message in a bottle to Jonah Lomu has travelled around the world, in fact, more than 41,000 kilometers from its departure last 26 March (Vigo-Dublin, Dublin-Wellington (New Zealand), Wellington-Dublin, Dublin-Paris and Paris-Castres).
The sending of the bottle was made following the six degrees theory. This theory claims that any person is connected with any other in the world through six interpersonal acquaintances. In this case, the theory has not come true. Jonah Lomu became the seventh degree of a chain that started in Vigo from the hands of Joe Scully, ex Vigo Rugby Club player.
The long voyage of the bottle could be tracked through the blog created to tell the history of the message to Lomu: mensajealomu.blogspot.com. To this day, it has been received more than 15,000 visits and they have been registered commentaries and entries from different parts of the world.
Next week will take place a meeting in which the responsible people of the initiative will tell the vicissitudes and anecdotes of the journey of the bottle throughout the world and where the words that Jonah Lomu sends to the children of the Vigo Rugby Club will be heard entirely.
